One of the many things that sets Blowout Sax apart from other forms of instrumental tuition is the performance aspect.
At every Blowout gig there are in excess of 60 plus enthusiastic students showing off their new found skills in a very professionally organised performance.
The backing band is always made up of top Bristol session musicians and the band is run by the incredible talent of top American sax man and long-time Blowout Sax stalwart Craig Crofton.
“Students will be playing pop, blues, soul, and some ska/reggae. It’s classic party tunes, basically, from One Step Beyond to Baker Street, Local Hero’s Goin’ Home,Pick Up The Pieces it’ll all be there ” says Mark. “We’re giving people the experience of playing live; it gives learning a focus, a goal. This the 18th year of this gig and always been a sell out.’
This time we are also introducing some original House and Mark Archer penned reggae songs with students own solos too.

Another great set of performances from our ace Blowout sax students playing so many famous sax pieces ..what a excellent soiree of music.

Well I wouldn’t let the team down. Really friendly bunch and some great sax players. You need a bigger venue. It was certainly intimate 😃 you rock Mr Blowout Sax🎷🎷🎷😃 .

Hi Mark! Thanks so much for inviting me to sing last night! It was fab to be part (tho a small part!) of such a successful and fun evening! I was very impressed by the whole thing- the organisation, the band but most of all, all the players that were keen to get up and play.. That’s all down to you! I know you’ve had years of practise with these evenings, but the energy is daily there in bucket loads! Really well done!
